St Paul’s Cathedral, whose famous dome dominates London’s skyline, is England’s architectural masterpiece and place of national celebration. A cathedral has stood here since 604AD with the present cathedral, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, now over 300 years old.

Timetable:
We run frequent departures from central London piers. The nearest pier is Bankside Pier, followed by a short walk across Millennium Bridge. Please check our timetable before travelling.

Sightseeing opening hours

  • The Cathedral usually opens for sightseeing Monday to Saturday at 08.30. Wednesday’s at 10.00.
  • Last admission to the Cathedral is at 16.00.
  • Once inside the Cathedral, access to the Dome Galleries is from 09.30 to 16.15 (10.00 to 16.15 on Wednesdays).
  • The Cathedral closes for sightseeing at 16.30. The shop closes at 16.30.
  • The Dome Galleries are open for visits. Within the Dome, the Whispering Gallery remains closed to the public until further notice. The Stone Gallery and Golden Gallery will be open. Entrance to the Golden Gallery is subject to availability due to continued capacity management and there may be time restrictions in place.
  • The restaurant is closed. The coffee cart café is open in the Crypt Monday – Saturday.

  • 6th April: Cathedral opens for sightseeing 12.45.
  • 7th April: Good Friday. Cathedral open for prayer and worship only. No sightseeing.
  • 8th April: Last entry for sightseeing 15.00. Last admission to Galleries 15.15.
  • 9th May: Last entry for sightseeing 14.30. Last admission to Galleries 14.45. Cathedral Floor clear of visitors 15.30.
  • 10th May: Last entry for sightseeing 14.15. Last admission to Galleries 14.30. Cathedral Floor clear of visitors 15.00.
  • 16th May: Last entry for sightseeing 15.00. Last admission to Galleries 15.15. Cathedral Floor clear of visitors 16.00.
  • 16th June: Cathedral opens for sightseeing 13.00.
  • 24th June: Last entry for sightseeing 11.30. Last admission to Galleries 11.45. Cathedral Floor clear of visitors 12.45.
  • 27th June: Cathedral opens for sightseeing 12.00.
  • 1st July: Last entry for sightseeing 11.30. Last admission to Galleries 11.45. Cathedral Floor clear of visitors 13.00.
  • 14th July: Cathedral opens for sightseeing 11.00.

    Terms and conditions:

    • St Paul’s Cathedral is open for sightseeing from Monday to Saturday, 08.30 – 16.00 (last admission).
    • No large bags and no cloakroom (more precise details in the operational info sheet attached)
    • No photography or filming is permitted inside the Cathedral
    • Children must be accompanied by an adult
    • Children aged 5 should book Uber Boat by Thames Clippers tickets separately as their entrance to St Paul's Cathedral is free
    • A voucher will be sent by email, please print and exchange at the attraction’s entrance.
    • Uber Boat by Thames Clippers operates a 'no ticket, no travel' policy, please print your ticket or show it to a member of staff on a mobile device.
